About Us

The Landrevilles live in the southeast portion of Wisconsin, near West Bend.  Wade is a Real Estate Appraiser, Katie is a Human Resources professional and our daughter Ellie is in the 5th grade.

Our strong interest in hunting led to our initial interest in gun dogs.  We soon found dog training not only necessary for our hunting enjoyment, but a great way to enjoy our interests year round.  We found a lot of satisfaction in training and developing our dogs, and it wasn’t long before we started running our dogs in hunt tests to gauge how well our dogs were developing.

We typically start training in the spring and spend the fall and winter months hunting our dogs.  Our dogs regularly hunt pheasant, grouse, woodcock, dove and waterfowl.  We try to make a destination hunting trip once per year, and our dogs travel with us on family trips whenever possible.

Besides our Braques, we have a Beagle and a Black Lab.  We are active members of a local Beagle Club and we enjoy participating in Beagle field trials as well as rabbit hunting.  Ellie is looking forward to handling our Beagle in field trials as part of the AKC Junior Handler program.  Our Black Lab acts as the watch dog for the entire household.

We named Sunshine Kennel after our family farm.  Wade’s Great Grandfather, Damas Landreville, immigrated from Crabree, Quebec to the Red River Valley of northern Minnesota in the early 1900’s and purchased land from relatives.  In 1909 he registered the land as Sunshine Farm.  The farm was passed down to Wade’s Grandfather Arthur Landreville and later to Wade’s father and uncle who own it today.  The Landreville family originated in France and immigrated to Quebec in the 1600’s.
