Breeding Philosophy

Our philosophy is to breed Braque Francais on a limited basis, utilizing a breeding program that will ultimately carry on the unique characteristics of the breed, and will maintain the high level of satisfaction we have experienced in Ronny and Addie. We prioritize hunting performance, but we will not sacrifice a good disposition to achieve that.

Our policy requires that our breeding stock must be:

  • CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) registered
  • NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) registered
  • Registered with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals)
  • Registered through CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation)
  • Awarded at least a Prize III in the NAVHDA Natural Ability or Utility test
  • Completely healthy and free of genetic defects
  • At least 24-months of age

Frequently Asked Questions
We receive a lot of questions about how we handle the sale of our puppies. The following information will answer the questions we receive most frequently. If you have any other questions for us please do not hesitate to email or call.

  • We do not keep a waiting list. However, we will accept deposits when we know with a great deal of certainty our next breeding will be. If you are interested in obtaining a puppy from us we will be happy to work with you.
  • We take a $200 deposit to reserve either a male or a female puppy. The purchase price includes a vet check, the first series of shots, tail docking, and registration with the Canadian Kennel Club and NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association.)
  • The pups are selected at about seven weeks of age in the order in which the deposits were placed.
  • We do our best to keep our customers updated in regards to the breeding, the pregnancy and the progress of the pups.
  • For the pups that are shipped: We purchase an Intermediate Pet Porter-style crate and add the actual cost to the cost of the pup. The pups are shipped from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport to maximize the odds of the pups getting a direct flight to their new homes. The shipping charges are typically paid directly to the airline and pups are shipped together when possible.
  • Our pups are ready for their new homes at around nine weeks of age.
  • We feed Purina Pro Plan Puppy Chicken and Rice to our pups.
  • We provide a three-year health guarantee for our puppies.
